Music is a big part of our life together! During virtual worship, we have heard from many soloists and compilations of our gifted musicians. Thank you for your creativity!

When We Gather in Person…

In addition to congregational hymn singing, which is its own special experience, each Sunday the Chancel Choir performs a special anthem.

Led by our minister of music Rev. Phil Carpenter and accompanist Russell Gross, the choir prepares special music for Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter as well as service music for each Sunday of the year.  Using the skills of vocal soloists, handbell ringers, community musicians and skilled professionals, the music program offers a wide variety of music to reach, teach, educate, inspire and uplift our diverse congregation and visitors.

A new feature of the music ministry of the church is the Ravensworth Concert Series.  Drawing from vocal, keyboard, wind and string professionals as well as top-notch military music programs, the series is designed to engage the greater community around the church, inviting attendance at low-cost and/or free concerts.  In conjunction with the concert series, the church is also becoming a preferred venue for local professional studios for recitals and concerts. For more information or to schedule an event, please contact Phil or leave a message for him at the church office.

Choir meets on Wednesday nights at 7pm to rehearse for weekly worship. Interested? Contact Phil!

Music for Kids Children age 2 through grade 5 participate in our monthly meeting of Music for Kids during the worship service on the second Sunday of the month (we break during summer). Led by our minister of music, Phil and assisted by our nursery caregivers, the children learn music to sing as important members of our worshipping community. They also have a lot of fun as they discover all the ways music and faith formation go hand in hand.
