Introducing Anna Garcia, RBC’s Interim Director of Faith Formation & Outreach!

We are thrilled to announce Anna Garcia as our Interim Director of Faith Formation & Outreach! Anna is a familiar face to RBC as we welcomed Anna and her family into membership in December. She has a passion for faith formation for all ages and connecting with our local community. Anna will begin in this new position the week of April 18. In February, the congregation tasked the approved hiring group of Cathy Baskin, Ron Bourne (Missions/Personnel), Pastor Leah, Holly Hollman (Personnel), and Sandi Pope (Education) with interviewing and extending an offer for the position. The committee was unanimous in their support of Anna for the position.

Anna Garcia is thrilled to serve RBC and aspires to use her gifts to equip our beloved community. A native of Dallas, Texas, she is a newcomer to the DC metro and has lived here for 2 years. Anna’s history of service includes working in higher education institutions, parachurch organizations, and churches. She is passionate about the intersection between theology, race, and the body. Her most recent work includes service as a pastoral intern at Northside Baptist Church in Clinton, MS, service as a Resident Chaplain for Baylor University’s Office of Spiritual Life, and a Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Student. Go intern serving in Southeast Asia exploring interfaith conversations. 
Anna has a Master of Higher Education Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce and is almost finished with her Master of Divinity degree from Baylor University’s Truett Seminary. 
She is a mother of two very active and sweet boys, ages 1 and 2.5 years old and wife to her husband, Jose. In her free time, she enjoys getting outdoors. Taking trips to DC, exploring national parks and museums, sampling coffee shops, and international foods, are some of her favorite pastimes. Her hobbies also include cooking, reading, and salsa dancing.
